Odd thing is that when I press P2 start while in a match, the P1 pause menu comes up. Maybe offline mode doesn't support 2 players? Player 2 start doesn't work, so I have no idea if the other controls work. I doubt autohotkey would help because the script that makes my middle mouse button register as ESC doesn't work. After mapping the controls, you still need to use the ENTER and ESC keys to select stuff. I was all psyched up to recommend the game at that point, but the controls are all screwy. Not sure I should mention this, but it never even asked for a product key or activation code?!? This time it worked though and the game loads completely and plays.

Then I installed it from the installer package like I did the first time, expecting the same result.

Then tried to reinstall the game from the setup menu and kept getting the same error message (looked up the code and it was a generic untrusted certificate something or other) net 3.5 (even though I had 4.0 installed) and whatever else was in the support folder. I installed the games for windows live, direct x.

(for anyone who skipped over my previous posts, I downloaded the game from Capcom on my main pc, hit cancel when it wanted to install there and copied the installation folder over to my arcade setup) I'm not sure if it does or not, since it crashes when I try to launch it. I was hopting that SSFIV would work the same way.

The first time it launched, the activation options were activating online or emailing customer service a computer generated code and they email you back an activation key (differs from product key). It would be nice if the copy I downloaded from Capcom would just work.might even encourage others to buy it.ĮDIT: I should have mentioned that I received a free copy of Flock! with SSFIV and that downloaded pretty quickly, so I tried installing that on the cab as a test. I'll get it working one way or another this evening and report back. Since Capcom listened to their customers and fixed the major issues, I really wanted to do everything above bar and avoid downloading cracks or isos. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it. I clicked the installer package instead of going through the setup menu. I'm downloading the iso image just in case I can't get the current installation straightened out. I didn't have any time to mess with it before I left for work. It seemed to install fine, but crashes every time it launches. I used the capcom download manager to download it to my main pc, then copied the installation folder to my arcade cab.

One other note: I advise that everyone purchase the digital version (downloadable) so that no cd will be required after installation. Feel free to add comments if you own the game as well. I'm still messing around with it, but figured I'd post my findings here. Menus are easier to access and have many options. Perfect!Īlso, from what I've noticed so far, the game looks very polished. Now, the game simply launches from the icon on your desktop right into the game. Also, they got rid of the loader menu that used to pop in in the original SFIV, where you had to click on Launch to get it to run. Namely, the lack of multi-keyboard support as noted in this workaround post: which made it impossible to play with 2 players with one keyboard encoder on a cabinet (until we patched it of course). The problems that plagued the original Street Fighter IV PC release are gone.

Looks like Capcom finally did their homework. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition came out yesterday.

Capcom has smelled the coffee and really listened to their fans for a PC version.

What a relief! After skipping Super Street Fighter IV for the PC (consoles only).
